History

Three Pagodas Pass or was known as the “Him Sam Kong” is the mark of Thailand-Myanmar Border in the Tenasserim Hills. In B.E.2472, Phra Suwannakhiri, the Governor of Sangkhla Buri asked people to construct the pagodas. Thus, the three pagodas was the symbol of crossing border. It is believed that in the 3rd Century, Indian monk passed this border to Thailand for the first time to beat Ayutthaya in Burmese–Siamese War in B.E.2091.
